The Box Sash Workshop

All our windows are draught proofed and comply with part L regulations. We can produce either double glazed box sash windows for new builds or single glazed box sashes for replacement windows within historic buildings.

The client has a choice of sash style, and timber used, we normally use joinery grade certified Baltic pine for the box and sashes with hardwood sills, but we also use 100 to 150 year old pitch pine which we reclaim from projects around the world.

We can of course also discuss any individual requirements. All timber used is treated for rot and infestation and the box and sashes leave us with either an oil based primer, or fully decorated using the clients chosen paints and colours. We would normally dispatch complete with weights, pre streched sash cords, pulleys and glazing. However if glazing putty is used rather than beads, several weeks should elapse before full decoration can take place.
